Nancy Gets a Drastic Hair Change in Season Two
Nancy might be shedding her girly looks for Season 2.
Sarah Hindsgaul, the lead hair stylist on Stranger Things, revealed some interesting news about the hair in Season Two. In an interview with Refinery29, the hair stylist revealed that this season will further embody the styles of the 1980s, for better and for worse:"This year it is very different — we start stepping more into the ‘80s, which is kind of amazing, visually. Last year was '83 and this year is '84, and they’re still in Hawkins, Indiana — but people are starting to realize there are perms and mullets, so we’re using a lot of wigs this year, because no one wants perms and mullets."
She also revealed that Nancy has a drastic change in terms of hair, but remained mysterious about the details: "Nancy has kind of a big hair turn this year, too — they decided to do something drastic… That's all I can tell you."
This revelation sheds some light on a mysterious reddit post from last month, where user MultiMediaWill posted a picture from his meeting with Charlie Heaton and Natalia Dyer and claimed that "They weren't allowing photos with them due to something I'm not allowed to say." In the photo he took, Natalia is seen wearing a beanie, but her hair is visibly shorter.
In addition to this, Joe Keery posted a photo from a night shoot on Instagram, where Natalia is seen sporting a cap and again, her hair is about shoulder-length.
It is obvious that Nancy has cut her hair and I am pretty curious about what's hiding under that head-wear. It certainly seems like Nancy is shedding her girly looks, but the interesting question is, of course, why? Is it a continuation of her season one transition from innocent to bad-ass? Has she rejected her old life as a preppy girl to embrace an outsider identity? If so, has she embraced Jonathan as well?
I can't wait to see what Season 2 will bring.
