Return of Eleven Revealed at Comic Con Panel

Harbour and Brown reveal season two secrets at New York Comic Con

David Harbour (Hopper) and Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) attended New York Comic Con's "Inside the Upside Down" panel on October 7, and though they're sworn to secrecy, they let a few details about season two slip. The biggest reveal was when they kind of said that Eleven will return for season two.

Harbour has just received the first couple scripts for the second season and said "The story arc is insane," and Brown said that she has been sent the script as well. As if that's not enough, the real confirmation of Eleven's return came when Harbour joked that he knows Paul Wesley from The Vampire Diaries and said "He's going to be in Atlanta when we're shooting," to which Millie quickly responded "If I'm back in Atlanta," followed by a theatrical wink. Although not explicitly stated, it's so heavily implied that it counts as a confirmation.

In addition to this, Harbour revealed that the show will offer more details on Hopper’s daughter Sarah, saying "I feel like with the loss of a daughter like that, I just feel like he's truly broken in a way that almost cannot be healed. In a certain way he has so much guilt because he’s so used to saving people — used to good guys and bad guys — and finally he puts himself in a situation where it’s just life. I mean, there’s just nothing he can do and I think that he takes that on himself and carries it on his shoulders."

He also said the season would continue to explore "one of the great love triangles of the series" – of course referring to Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan. "Even when I was watching I felt torn. They both were so three dimensional. There will be more of that for seasons to come."

As for Barb, the question about her death came up yet again, and Harbour reiterated what has already been confirmed countless times: "I can assure you that Barb is very much dead." However, he assured fans that season two will "deal with the loose ends in Season Two, and we do deal with some of the internet rage over Barb's death. We will have justice for Barb in some sense."
