The extras casting agency for Stranger Things, Casting TaylorMade, posted a casting call looking for "female clerical types" earlier today.

FILMING LOCATION: ATLANTA, GA OR SURROUNDING CITIES
FILMING DATE: THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9th, 2017

Filming will take place on February 9 – the same day they will be filming the early 1970s flashback scenes which was detailed in another casting call. That casting call was looking for a similar role of a "female clerical/receptionist type", but the one posted today is most likely a different role as the details differ slightly; this one is looking for 1980s hairstyles, first of all.

Hence, it's probably not for the 1970s flashback shoot as this casting call did not specify anything at all about the 1970s, and they aren't posting more about it so the roles seem to have been filled.
